This dish was a highlight of my childhood in 1960s Chicago. We went once or twice a ye@r to a restaurant in Chinatown called Guy Yee, where a Chinese-speaking friend of my father had ordered it for us from the Chinese menu. I have always remembered it. When I was in Hong Kong years ago, my hosts found a restaurant that made it. I was touched and grateful, but it was not as good as the version we used to get! Guy Yee served theirs over very fine, crispy noodles.
